  2. Hi, I'm hoping to visit Castle Lake for the first time soon, primarily looking for Corn Buntings and Yellow Wagtails. I was wondering if you have any tips on best places to look?

  4. Hi Corn Bunting are best picked up by their song, my advice would be to walk a complete circuit of the lake following the dry stone wall, with any luck you should come across one this way, the most reliable spot is the telegraph wire just beyond the north-east corner of the lake. Yellow Wagtail are often seen perched on the wall which runs down the western side of Castle Lake. Good luck and enjoy your visit.

  5. Thanks a lot. I'm just waiting for a sunny day so I can look for butterflies in the nearby quarries while I'm down there. That's really helpful. I'll let you know how I get on.
