Sightings today from a number of observers with thanks in particular to Joe Hughes and John Olley.
Highlight today was only the second record of Grey Plover at Bishop Middleham.
Castle Lake birds included 1 Barnacle Goose, 2 Ringed Plover, 1 Grey Plover, 3 Dunlin, 1 Redshank, 3 Wood Sandpiper, 1 Common Sandpiper and a Blue-headed Wagtail.
A Red Kite was seen over Low Hardwick.
A few pictures of the Grey Plover and Wood Sandpiper.
Well its certainly been a great weekend for waders, the much needed rainfall has livened up the scrapes and brought a few extra birds down. Unfortunately it wasn't all good news as a Great Crested Grebe nest (albeit one that was still under construction) was washed away by the sudden rise in water levels.
(Grey Plover is species number 136 on my BM bird list).
