Firstly catching up with sightings from Saturday.

Saturday 4th October 2014
Castle Lake - 90 Wigeon, 70 Gadwall, 220 Mallard, 6 Shoveler, 7 Pochard, 25 Little Grebe, 1 Great Crested Grebe, 12 Cormorant, 3 Little Egret, 1 juvenile Ringed Plover, 1 Ruff, 1 Dunlin, 5 Snipe, 2 Redshank, 1 Greenshank, 2 Green Sandpiper, 2 adult Lesser Black-backed Gull and 7+ Skylark.

Stoneybeck Lake - 1 Pink-footed Goose, 47 Greylag Geese, 3 Canada Geese, 3 male Shoveler, 2 Snipe and a singing Chiffchaff.

Castle Lake - 14 Greylag Geese, 132 Canada Geese, 140 Wigeon, 1 Pintail, 10 Shoveler, 185 Teal, 1 Great Crested Grebe, 10 Cormorant, 2 Little Egret, 1 Kestrel, 1 Ringed Plover, 1 Sanderling with a Dunlin in the south-east corner early afternoon (only the 2nd ever record of Sanderling at Bishop Middleham), 2 Snipe, 2 Redshank, 1 Greenshank, 3 Green Sandpiper and the Gadwall x Tufted Duck hybrid has returned again.
