Sightings for today from John Olley, Joe Hughes and myself.

Stoneybeck Lake - 4 Snipe, 2 Greenshank and a Buzzard.

Castle Lake - 600 Greylag Geese, 7 Wigeon, 22 Shoveler, 30 Teal, 2 Pochard, 5+ Grey Partridge, 22 Little Grebe, Great Crested Grebe with juveniles, 1 Black-necked Grebe, 2 Cormorant, 1 Little Egret, 1 Kestrel, 1 Ringed Plover, 800 Lapwing, 6 Ruff, 3 Dunlin, 12 Snipe, 120 Curlew, 1 Spotted Redshank, 2 Green Sandpiper, 1 Common Sandpiper, 1,100 Black-headed Gull (a new site record maybe?), 1 Little Owl, 2 Kingfisher chasing each other around the lake, 2 Skylark, 1 Yellow Wagtail, a Whinchat on the eastern side between 09:30-09:45, quite a scarce bird around these parts, in fact this is only my second ever sighting here, September is definitely a good month to catch up with this species, a Chiffchaff was singing in the wildlife garden, 20 Tree Sparrow and 100 Linnet complete the day's total.
